For 40 years the Alyth Choral Society has been recognised as occupying a unique place in the UK’s vibrant choral scene. The Society was founded by Viv Bellos in 1983 and is the only UK choir to specialise in music based on the Hebrew Bible. Alyth Choral Society has had many works composed for it, including the cantatas Death of Moses and Ruth by Julian Dawes, an honorary Life Friend of the Society. The Society has performed at national venues including the Royal Festival Hall, Barbican, St John’s, Smith Square, St Martin-in-the-Fields and St Paul’s.
Choirslist is organized into regional sites across the UK. We’ve launched in London in 2024, and will open up other cities and regions to match local demand.
