Eltham Choral Society is a friendly, welcoming, mixed choir of around 80 voices. Based in Eltham for over 100 years, the choir’s repertoire ranges from the 16th to the 21st century and includes many of the great choral works -follow link below for details. We are a non-auditioning choir that welcomes all levels of musical ability. Practical learning resources are available for use at home to assist those who are less confident or who have not sung for some time. We meet weekly in term time at the United Reformed Church in Eltham SE9 which has excellent transport links. Over the years we have been fortunate to attract talented and enthusiastic young music directors who provide a wide range of musical opportunities and make our rehearsals fun. Our concerts are mainly in and around the Eltham area with periodic performances at other well known venues such as St John's Smith Square, Southwark Cathedral and Blackheath Halls, in collaboration with other choirs. We enjoy regular social events and go on tour biannually, usually in Europe. A registered charity affiliated to Making Music, the choir has a tradition of commissioning works from modern composers and offers a bursary scheme. http://www.elthamchoral.org.uk/pastevents04.html
