We meet on Monday afternoons from 3pm to 4.30pm, term time. All voices are welcomed without audition, regardless of experience or ability, and everything is taught by ear so being able to read music is not needed. We are led by Xenia Davis, a member of the Natural Voice Network. The network believes that everyone can sing and Natural Voice choirs are accepting, non‑judgemental communities that enjoy singing together as a group. We meet at Holy Trinity Church, Penge, which has lovely acoustics. The premises are fully accessible, including toilet facilities. There is some parking on site and in local surrounding streets. In the summer, on warm dry days, we meet at Kent House Leisure Gardens, in Sydenham. For those unable to attend in person, we offer Zoom sessions.
Sydenham Singers is a self-governing independent community choir. The choir has the following aims: • To enable people from across the community to enjoy singing and performing music; • To encourage non-singers to feel confident and able to take part; • To provide a sense of personal fulfilment and community cohesion through rehearsing and performing together, and • To provide mutual support and encouragement to all members.
Choirslist London lists choirs across its 33 boroughs.
