The Addison Chamber Choir is an auditioned choir of about 30 voices who sing a large repertoire but have become particularly known for the performance of music by a wide range of contemporary composers, many of whom have written pieces especially for the choir. The choir regularly performs in venues across London. Most recently, they performed as part of the Brandenburg Choral Festival at St Margaret Pattens in “Alla Luce”, a programme featuring Howell’s Requiem , Vaughan Williams Serenade to Music and works by Paul Mealor and Morten Lauridsen. In May 2024, the choir went on a concert tour to Seville. The Addison Chamber Choir frequently joins concerts given by the Addison Oratorio Choir, often having their own performing spot and making a pleasing contrast to the larger scale works sung by the bigger choir, both in the UK and abroad. Matthew Thomas Morgan - our Music Director, Classical - took up his post in January 2023.
New members are always welcome to join the Addison Group of Singers, which is made up of three different singing classes and four different choirs for singers of all ages, abilities and musical interests. It was founded more than 30 years ago with David Wordsworth as its Musical Director since 1995. Matthew Thomas Morgan - newly appointed Music Director, Classical - takes up his post in January 2023 to conduct the Chamber Choir and Oratorio Choir.
Choirslist London lists choirs across its 33 boroughs.
