We are a friendly welcoming choir. Although we don’t have formal auditions, we do expect singers to be able to sing in tune and, if they don’t sight read, to be willing to learn their part using available resources on our website. We have lively rehearsals and enjoy our music making. We have a varied repertoire with something to suit all tastes from baroque to present day composers. We aim to have an orchestra at one of our three concerts each season and always engage professional soloists. Most concerts are given in local venues. We often have the opportunity to sing at the Fairfield halls with renowned orchestras such as the London Mozart Players. Our subscriptions are very competitive and nearly all music is provided at no extra charge. You can apply to join by completing an online form on our website.
Croydon Bach Choir was founded in 1960 by Derek Holman to sing Bach's St. John Passion. It has continued giving high quality concerts around Croydon since then providing a platform for music-making through the enthusiasm and dedication of its many singers, the hard work of its voluntary office-holders and the quality of musicianship of its successive music directors and accompanists.
Choirslist London lists choirs across its 33 boroughs.
