We are one of the leading non-auditioning choirs in South London, committed to providing the best choral experience for our members and our audience. Under the professional direction of Dan Ludford-Thomas, our repertoire ranges from the Renaissance to the 21st century, from Tallis, Monteverdi, Bach and Mozart to Pärt, McDowall and Whitacre. We extend a warm welcome to new joiners, we are proud to be a friendly and diverse choir, with members from all backgrounds and with differing levels of experience, and this is reflected in our policies. We know that you will feel at home singing with us, and we look forward to seeing you at our rehearsals.
Our aim is to be the best amateur choir in London. We rehearse and perform a wide spectrum of music from the sixteenth to the twenty-first century, ranging from well-known pieces to contemporary works and world premieres. We are committed to providing an atmosphere for our members that is both inclusive and musically challenging. Our members are drawn from a wide musical background whose musical experience varies significantly. However, we are all committed to working together to produce a high standard of performance. LCS does not audition new members. However, we expect all members to work towards a high standard of performance by attending rehearsals regularly and if necessary, through individual personal homework outside of rehearsals.
Choirslist London lists choirs across its 33 boroughs.
