Based in Enfield, we are a friendly, four part choir (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass) singing a wide-range of music. We are open to everyone (over 18) who would like to sing - we won’t ask you to audition and you don’t need to know how to read music! We have around 80 members, with around 60 singing in each concert. We have three concerts a year, Christmas, Spring and Summer. All are held in churches in or near Enfield Town. Our Spring concert is usually a well known classical piece. In the Summer we sing a mixed programme of shorter more modern pieces – pop, folk or musical theatre, for example. We are very lucky to have an accomplished composer and arranger as our musical director – Jonathan Rathbone. A former Swingle Singer, Jonathan has had a long and illustrious career as a music professional. Our Christmas and summer programme pieces are generally all arranged by him. He also kindly provides rehearsal tracks for each choir part to help those who prefer to learn by ear. Between concerts, we try to put on a few pop-up concerts to raise money for a local hospital or charity event. Come and join us!
The Rowantree Choir is a community choir, based in Enfield, North London. A registered charity, we were founded in 1959. For our members, and to our audiences through our concerts, we aim to promote, improve, develop and maintain all aspects of music appreciation. We are funded through our membership subscriptions and tickets sales for our concerts. The choir is run democratically by a committee, elected by the members at an annual general meeting. All committee members are unpaid volunteers drawn from the choir membership.
Choirslist London lists choirs across its 33 boroughs.
