About the choir

We are a vibrant and musically ambitious amateur choir based in South West London. With a repertoire spanning over 800 years, the Choir enjoys performing everything from renaissance polyphony to contemporary compositions and everything else in between. Rehearsals are high energy, high pace and designed to improve vocal technique, expand musical horizons and to share in the joy of communal music making. Our Music Director is Harry Bradford, a prize-winning conductor and choral director working in the UK and Europe. Since winning Second Prize in the prestigious Eric Ericson Award 2021, he has collaborated with a number of the world’s finest vocal ensembles including the MDR Rundfunkchor, the Eric Ericsons Kammarkör, the Sixteen and the Swedish Radio Choir. Our accompanist is James Orford, a prize-winning organist and pianist who is currently the Organist and Assistant Director of Music at St Paul's Church, Knightsbridge. We are committed to developing young singers and musicians and have established a Choral Scholarship Programme to support aspiring young singers with their choral training. We are a friendly and welcoming group and are always happy to welcome new members, with open rehearsals at the start of each term. Come and try us!

Detailed Membership information

We invite prospective members to come along to rehearsals, sing with us and talk to members in order to experience singing with us. We work hard during rehearsals under our inspirational Conductor and Music Director, Harry Bradford. We have a break for tea and cake so there is an opportunity to socialise and get to know one another. On Open Rehearsal evenings (typically at the beginning of each term), we finish early for drinks and social time with prospective members. If you decide you would like to join, you will be asked to go through a relaxed vocal assessment with Music Director, Harry Bradford. You do not need to be able to sight-read music, although it helps. Subscriptions are £85 per term or £227 for the full year. You can choose to pay the full year subscription with an initial payment of £85 and 2 post-dated cheques for £85 and £57, dated for the beginning of the next 2 terms. Full time students and those under 25 have free membership, and there is a discount of 50% for members under 30. There are no concessions for Seniors. Choir members who are income tax payers can claim gift aid on subscriptions on completing a Gift Aid Declaration.
