Tredici is resident at the church of St Giles in the Fields which is a short walk from Centre Point. The nearest tube station is Tottenham Court Road although Covent Garden tube is not far away. We relish the challenge of contemporary music as well as repertoire from the English, Spanish and Italian Renaissance. Our normal weekly rehearsals take place in St Giles every Monday lunchtime between 12.45pm and 2.00pm and, because they only last for just over an hour, singers are expected to be competent sight-readers and willing to work on their own in learning some of the notes. We also endeavour to hold a Saturday workshop each term. We have recently enjoyed a very successful partnership with the dynamic young professionals of Orpheus Sinfonia, performing Bach's B Minor Mass to great acclaim in March 2019. More recently we have performed Brahms' German Requiem (March 2022) in a wonderful chamber orchestra arrangement by Joachim Linckelmann. Biber's Requiem and Mozart's Coronation Mass (March 2023) and in 2024 we travel to St Paul's Knightsbridge to perform requiems by Faure and Durufle. We will celebrate our 20th Anniversary with a performance of Bach's St John Passion, with orchestra, in spring 2025.
Our aim is to perform some of the finest sacred music ever written to the highest standards. Tredici is resident at the church of St Giles-in-the-Fields in Holborn. Our association with this beautiful 1734 Henry Flitcroft-designed church dates back to the choir’s formation, in 2004, when Richard Thomas was invited to assemble a group of singers for the Leprosy Mission's carol service. There were 13 singers at that first event - hence the choir's name. In the intervening years the choir's membership has evolved into the current group of 38 - most of whom are experienced singers drawn from a variety of leading London choirs including the Philharmonia Chorus, BBC Symphony Chorus and London Symphony Chorus. Tredici has performed over 100 concerts in central London churches. Our wide repertoire encompasses sacred music from the 16th to the 21st centuries and past concerts have featured masterpieces by such renowned composers as Monteverdi, de Padilla, Guerrero, Victoria, Tallis, Purcell, and Byrd through to Howells, Rachmaninov, Britten, Tavener and MacMillan.
