“Singing Makes You Feel Good!” That’s our motto. Every Tuesday evening members bring their voices, humour, and a lot of soul into the rehearsal room. We sing a wide range of music, from classical to pop and traditional folk songs. As varied as our repertoire is our membership; we welcome diversity of gender, ethnicity, age, ability, religion, sexual orientation, and educational background. There is a place for everyone. No previous experience? Not needed, you’ll learn along the way! Musical Director Nicki Williamson has led the choir since 2011 and continues to do so, encouraging and inspiring members to grow in confidence and develop their voices. We usually start learning songs with sheet music, but most of our performances are sung without it. It can be a challenge at first, but it’s made a huge difference to our sound, it makes us feel more connected and responsive to each other. TCC was set up in 2009 with support from a Haringey Council grant to create a new opportunity for people in Tottenham and Haringey to come together and sing. TCC is run by an elected committee who work closely with our Musical Director on music choices, finances, events and all the behind-the-scenes stuff.
Tottenham Community Choir (TCC) was established in 2009 by local residents, with the help of a Making The Difference grant from Haringey Council, to provide opportunities for people in Tottenham and Haringey to meet their neighbours and sing together. TCC is run by an elected committee who work closely with our Musical Director on music choices, finances, events and all the behind-the-scenes stuff.
