Opera Holland Park’s Youth Chorus provides young people in school years 4 to 8 with the opportunity to engage in high quality music and drama extra-curricular teaching. Sessions run at the Chelsea Theatre on Mondays 4.15-5.45pm during term time. There will be opportunities for performances throughout the year which may be at the OHP theatre, or elsewhere. When there are productions in the season which require a children’s chorus, children in the Youth Chorus will have the opportunity to apply to be part of this. Participation in main-stage productions is not guaranteed, and may be dependent on a successful audition. Please note, we don’t always have an opera which requires a children’s chorus as part of the season, therefore these opportunities can vary year by year. However, we will always have some kind of performance opportunity for the whole Youth Chorus during the year. Applications: Priority is given to children living or attending state schools in the following boroughs: Kensington & Chelsea, Hammersmith & Fulham and Westminster. Children must be in years 4-8 at the time of joining the choir. We are particularly keen to hear from applicants who are currently underrepresented in the choir including boys and those from a global majority background.
Choirslist London lists choirs across its 33 boroughs.
