Barts Choir

We are one of London's largest unauditioned choral societies with around 300 regular members, offering amateur voices a wonderful opportunity to sing a variety of choral works in prestigious London venues with professional musicians. We have singers of all ages and abilities. Our aim is to welcome anyone who is interested in learning about singing classical choral music, participating in our community and performing with us. We rehearse for three terms each year and each term ends with a performances at a London venue (recent venues have included the Royal Festival Hall and Cadogan Hall) singing with professional orchestras and soloists. We also support smaller projects, such as charity carol concerts and providing a choir for the Barts Health Annual Remembrance Service at St Paul’s Cathedral. We rehearse on Monday evenings and one Saturday (daytime) a month during term-time. Since the pandemic we have had difficulty finding a regular Central London venue for rehearsals. We rehearse mostly at St Paul's Covent Garden but occasional rehearsals on Mondays and Saturdays are held elsewhere in Central London. Rehearsals are taken either by our Musical Director, Ivor, or by our Assistant Conductor, Jordan. Both work hard to make us sing better but both make rehearsals fun and interesting and there is often nearly as much laughing as singing during rehearsals!
