Founded in 1995, the Choir has established itself as a leading Jewish male voice choir in the UK with a broad repertoire of traditional and contemporary Jewish music. It has built a reputation of working with the finest Chazanim/Cantors in the world and in performing in prestigious venues across the UK (including The Bridgewater Hall in Manchester, Princes Road Synagogue in Liverpool and Wigmore Hall in London) and Europe (including the Rykestrasse Synagogue in Berlin and Rumbach Synagogue in Budapest). The Choir's typical annual schedule comprises a number of concerts (often around Chanukah, Purim and Pesach), religious services including Selichot and Sefirah services, Holocaust memorial educational events and other cultural and heritage events. In addition, the Choir regularly sings to the elderly in nursing and care homes and to adults with learning disabilities. One of the defining features of the Choir, is its warm and friendly atmosphere. The Choir is also distinctive in using musical notation software to help choristers to learn new pieces of music.
For almost 30 years, The London Cantorial Singers (TLCS/Choir) has been entertaining audiences throughout the UK and abroad with its distinctive repertoire of traditional and contemporary Jewish music. The Choir performs in a number of settings including concerts, religious services and life cycle events and regularly participates in civic and community Holocaust memorial educational events, workplace diversity events and interfaith activities. The Choir is a registered Small Charity with HMRC for tax purposes in line with Paragraph 1 of Schedule 6 Finance Act 2010
