We are a small, friendly, informal choir which has its origins in Barts Hospital. Started in 1968 by the conductor, John Lumley, who was a surgeon at the hospital. Over the years, we have enjoyed musical tours across Europe but now we are London based, joining with our orchestra to produce 4/5 concerts per year. In addition, we also produce 2/3 ‘Come and Sing’ concerts each year which are great fun! Our venue for events has always been the Great Hall at Barts, but during its closure until Autumn 2025 for renovation, we have been welcomed at the Musicians’ Church, St Sepulchre-without-Newgate. We welcome all voices and level of experience. We enjoy making music, and also the coffee break halfway through our weekly rehearsals! We join the orchestra for our concerts and raise funds for the Cancer Unit at Barts. It’s a win-win all round.
Established in 1971, this choir with its own orchestra performs 4 concerts a year with additional 'Come & Sing' days plus opera performances, donating all proceeds to Barts Cancer Unit. Non-auditioning, new singers are welcome.
Choirslist London lists choirs across its 33 boroughs.
