Southwark Chamber Choir is an ambitious and friendly London-based choir. We sing a wide variety of music each term, and past repertoire includes music by Mozart, Bach, Handel, Faure, Tallis, Purcell, Hagenberg, McGlade, Parry, Schubert & Holst. Southwark Chamber Choir was established in 2015 under the leadership of our founding Musical Director, Jordan Theis. Originally a staff choir based at the Imperial War Museum London, we rehearsed inside the museum’s Dome at lunchtimes and performed our first concert at the staff Christmas party. In 2016, we became the Museum Singers and expanded to welcome members from across London, moving our rehearsals to nearby St George’s Cathedral. In 2021, the choir changed its name to Southwark Chamber Choir, to reflect our connection to the local area and our development from a small staff choir to an ambitious chamber group. In 2024, the choir moved to the Swiss Church London, in Covent Garden, under the direction of Musical Director, Yang Wern Ooi. In 2025, we returned to St George’s Cathedral, under the direction of our Musical Director, Rupert Gill.
